Birthdays and Anniversaries in February

Dear Batchmates,
February is a really good month for the Nil alumni. For starters, Mohit Mittal is celebrating his birthday. He and Shveta are also celebrating their anniversary later this month. As I remarked to him at the time of his wedding, his “B-Day” and his “D-Day” are equidistant from “V-Day” on opposite sides. Talking of V-Day, do have a good Valentine’s Day!

Back to the announcements, another Nilgirite (sort of) Rajas Nanda is celebrating his birthday on 17th February. So, Happy Birthday to both Mohit and Rajas!

Vijay Amrit Raj Sharma and Vandana are celebrating their anniversay on 2nd February. And Dinakar and Amulya are celebrating theirs on 10th February. Happy anniversary to Vijay + Vandana, Dinakar + Amulya and Mohit + Shveta!

Now for the BIG announcement of this month… As you would expect, this too is from a Nilgirite. Sulabh Agarwal is getting married to the very charming Rutu Bole at the end of this month in Bhopal. Rutu works for Deloitte Consulting in Pittsburgh in the Enterprise Risk Services area. Our best wishes to both of you!

As a few closing remarks, please note:

  1. Apart from the mail this message is posted on on the BTech96 Announcements page at http://btech96.org/announcements, minus the dates.
  2. Please ensure that your coordinates are up to date on the “Who is Where?” page at http://btech96.org/who_is_where.php. Do notify me of any changes that you might have had. I will update them myself while I work on a self-service mechanism.
  3. If you find a birthday / anniversary incorrectly listed or not listed at all, please let us know – it is really easy for us to correct it once we have the correct information.

Ciao.
Vaibhav & Tantan.

Happy New Year and Birthday / Anniversary Wishes for January

Wish you all a very Happy New Year! Let’s hope that the new year will bring some cheer to the market, among other things.

A couple of important things first:

  1. The monthly wishes will also be posted on the Announcements page at http://btech96.org/announcements.
  2. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on BTech96 – I have removed all references to the date of birth and address on BTech96, for purposes of security. This includes the birthday on the Announcements page, though the mail will continue to have it.

Congratulations to the following for getting a year older…

  • N.Surender Reddy
  • Neeraj Dumir
  • Vijay Amrit Raj Sharma
  • Shuchi Chawla

… And to the following for their anniversaries

  • Rohit Kumar and Namrata
  • Harsh Nanda and Ranjeeta
  • Vamsi Krishna and Rishika
  • Munish Singla and Sarika

Again, if your anniversary or a family member’s birthday is missing from the list above or is incorrect, it is not because we don’t like you – it is only because we don’t have the information. So for any missing birthdays (of family members) and anniversaries, please send me (Tantan) a note.

Happy New Year again!
Vaibhav & Tantan

BTech96 Across the World

A couple of days back I received an email from one of our batchmates requesting for the coordinates of another. To do some tests with the Google Maps API I went ahead and pulled together this: http://www.btech96.org/who_is_where.php. Please give it a try. You can see if you are listed there or not. It has the locations only of 28 people so far. You can run a search for your name / nickname / entry number.

I would like to update the coordinates of all folks in the batch, so please send them across to me. Just the city and state you are currently in should be good enough. If you believe your listing is incorrect, please notify me of the same.

Ciao.
Tantan.

Birthdays and Anniversaries for December

Hope folks in the US had a good Thanksgiving weekend. Most of my (Tantan’s) wingmates from Nil landed up in Vegas for a reunion and had a blast. Of course, fortunes in the casinos fluctuated wildly from the disastrous to the most impressive, ensuring that the house always won – the casino in some cases and Nilgiri in the others.

We are all getting older and the following people have crossed another milestone. Happy Birthday to you!

  • Shruti Dixit (Mrs. Alok Manchanda)
  • Amar Singhal
  • Sharad Mittal
  • Kapil Verma
  • Rohit Khandekar

Congratulations to all of the following on adding another year of domestic bliss:

  • Mayank Sharma & Roma
  • Pankaj Thakkar & Shilpa, Nikhil Garg & Pooja
  • Rohit Dube & Manisha
  • Anupam Rastogi & Megha

If we have missed out any birthdays or anniversaries, it is because you have been too shy or lazy and haven’t told us. So please send the missing dates across.

We pray that none of your near and dear ones was impacted in the Mumbai terror attacks. It was quite depressing to watch the carnage and we hope that India becomes more proactive in taking effective security measures in the future.

Ciao.
Vaibhav & Tantan.

Birthdays and Anniversaries for November

Belated Diwali wishes to all of you!

We are resuming the monthly wishes email again. We know that almost half the month is up and that some of you have already had your B’Days, but anyway…

Obviously the big news of the month is the upcoming wedding of Kumar Gautam and Guncha. Here’s wishing both of you a fun-filled and scandalous life ahead!

Most of us have already stepped into our 30s or will be doing so pretty soon. Here’s welcoming all of you to old age and doses of “30+”! At least now you don’t have to worry about falling / greying hair and bulging paunches.

  • Gaurav Rastogi
  • V.Vamsi Krishna
  • Subodh Kumar Sohi
  • Nikhil Garg
  • S.Kamal
  • Sulabh Agarwal
  • Alok Manchanda

Married brethren, here’s wishing you a happy anniversary!

  • Neeraj Dumir and Jyotsna
  • Alok Manchanda and Shruti
  • Saurabh Mahajan and Rima

Between August and now there have been several new unannounced A-list additions to the BTech96 family. The additions are A-list because all their names start with “A”, to the best of our knowledge. We urge you to share your happiness with the rest of us along with photos, if possible!

This weekend is Diwali Dhamaka in the Bay Area. Folks over here: do try and attend! IIT-D isn’t participating this year, but an occasion to meet should never be passed up.

Ciao.
Tantan and Vaibhav.
