Dear Friends,
Warm greetings from the not yet freezing Chicago! Hope all of you are having fun. To those in the US, hope you had a bargain-rich Black Friday.
Here’s wishing a Happy Birthday to these folks this month:
And a Happy Anniversary:
As usual, here are the regular notices:
Cheers,
Tantan and Vaibhav.
Dear Friends,
Hope you had a great Diwali and are now gearing up for winter. Before I start off, congratulations to Kapil Verma and Anupam Rastogi for making the move back home. And congratulations to Alok Manchanda, Shruti and Shreya on the new addition to their family – Sanvitti, born in early October!
Now for the birthdays this month:
And anniversaries:
Have fun, everyone!
Lastly, the usual notices:
Cheers,
Tantan and Vaibhav.
PS: I received a grand total of zero responses regarding ideas for the reunion, so I guess everyone is pretty busy. So the reunion plans are off the table for now.
Dear Friends,
Hope you have had a great Dussehra and are gearing up for celebrating Diwali. For folks in the Bay Area, there is the inter-IIT Diwali Dhamaka this year at the Campbell Heritage Theater (1 W Campbell Ave, Campbell, CA) on 3rd October from 4pm to 11pm. Tickets can be got here.
Since we are in the tenth year after graduation, we were thinking about having some kind of a reunion for the batch to celebrate this. Most of us finished our last exams and presentations at IIT in May 2000 and we got our degrees in August 2000. So I propose having the reunion sometime in June / July. For the parents in the batch in US and India this fits neatly with school vacations. Logistically this would mean a few things:
Obviously planning a big event takes time, hence this is being sent out so early. Please feel free to pitch in with your suggestions.
Next, big congratulations to Vijay Amrit Raj Sharma and Vandana on the birth of Arth! And best wishes to Gagan and Parikshit for tying the knot this month!
Also, Vamsi informed me that his son is called Naithik. “It means moral/ ethical. This guy would be heavily obligated to do the right thing
”, he gushed.
And now the long list of folks are celebrating their birthdays this month:
Happy Birthday, everyone!
Lastly, the usual notices:
Cheers,
Tantan and Vaibhav.
Dear Friends,
Greetings from my very travel-weary self! I have been doing coast-to-coast flights and then some more during the last few weeks, traveling to Rochester, NY for a client engagement. Hope all of you are doing well.
This month the following upstanding ladies and gents are celebrating their birthdays:
Happy Birthday folks and have fun!
Lastly:
Ciao.
Tantan.
Dear Friends,
First, please join me in congratulating the very thrilled Shilpa and Pankaj Thakkar on the birth of Aditya Thakkar (Adi) in July in Mountain View. Let’s wish the little family all the best, and let us hope we get to see some pictures!
Kunal Talwar is celebrating his birthday this month. A recent study concluded that the number of hair left on KT’s head this month achieved the statistical distinction of equaling his age in months. Happy Birthday KT! Also warm wishes to Sharad Mittal and Shilpa on the birthday of Arnav and to Harsh Nanda and Ranjeeta on the birthday of Hasit, all this month.
And now, a happy anniversary to Shuchi and Aditya, Gagan Singla and Nidhi, and Mitali and Manoj! Have fun, folks!
Lastly:
Ciao.
Tantan.
Dear Batchmates,
Really warm greetings from the sweltering heat of Kolkata. I have been on vacation, spending time between attending a couple of weddings here, sleeping, eating and keeping myself well-hydrated. Hope all of you are doing well! Also hope you have planned some fireworks for the Independence Day weekend!
This month here’s wishing a very Happy Birthday:
And a very Happy Anniversary:
Lastly:
By the way, Vamsi, what have you named Junior? He is still registered as “Vamsi Junior” with me (though I did pitch in some suggestions with you regarding what I was going to call him if you didn’t supply a name quickly enough!)
Cheers and have fun!
Tantan and Vaibhav
Dear Friends,
After a manifold increase in email traffic on BTech96 last month, what does this month have in store?
Let’s start by wishing a very Happy Birthday:
And a Happy Anniversary:
Hope all folks in the US had a good Memorial Day weekend. Some of us from Nilgiri had a pretty fun reunion near Santa Barbara. Of course, it was a sign of changing times that there were 3 kids at the reunion and a fair amount of activity was dictated by them.
You will all also be happy to know that our dear friend Vamsi has still not been able to decide on a name for Vamsi Junior. Let’s wish Vamsi and Reshika the best in this regard, for without a name there is no passport, without a passport there is no visa, and without a visa there is no trip to the US for the little one. We can’t have that, can we?
And finally:
Have fun.
Tantan and Vaibhav.
Hi Everyone,
Hope folks in the US are having fun with the start of summer and folks in India are trying to look at the sunny side of things.
Before I started writing this email I recalled that we will have graduated from IIT 9 years back this month. Technically we graduated in August, but our last exams were in May and our last grades too were announced in May. Here is to entering the tenth year after our graduation!!
Happy Birthday to the folks turning a year older:
And a Happy Anniversary to the folks celebrating another year of marital bliss:
And lastly:
Cheers and have fun!
Tantan and Vaibhav.
Dear Friends,
Hope all of you are busy making fools of yourselves and others. Also, here is hoping that the economic downturn is not impacting you in any major way.
Now, getting down to the fun stuff, here is wishing Shreya (Manchanda), Avish (Dumir) and Advit (Dube) a very happy second Birthday! We do request the parents to indulge in an extra slice of cake per member of BTech96 on our behalves.
As for the old-timers this is the month of Kiran Kumar Gurumukhi – Kiran and Megha are celebrating their anniversary and Kiran is getting a year older. Cheers to you, Gurumukhi! Here’s also wishing (Vivek) Jawa, (Tarkeshwar) Thakur, (Sachin) Zensaab and Ravi Sagar a very happy and eventful Birthday!
And lastly, the usual mumbo-jumbo:
Have a good All Fools Day, everyone!
Ciao.
Tantan & Vaibhav.
Dear Friends,
Yes, it is the monthly email again. This month, Happy Birthday to Alok Ranjan, Avneesh Sud, Pankaj Thakkar, Pankaj Kant Jha and Kumar Gautam. Also congratulations to Mayank and Roma Sharma on the 2nd Birthday of Raina!
Though it seems funny wishing ourselves, we (Tantan and Tanuka) are celebrating our wedding anniversary this month and so are we (Vaibhav and Swati). And lastly, hearty congratulations to the married veterans of our batch – Rohit Khandekar and Aradhana. For those who don’t remember Khandekar and Aradhana were the first to get married in our batch.
Now for the usual messages:
Lastly, Happy Holi to everyone!
Ciao.
Tantan & Vaibhav
