Dear Friends,

First, please join me in congratulating the very thrilled Shilpa and Pankaj Thakkar on the birth of Aditya Thakkar (Adi) in July in Mountain View. Let’s wish the little family all the best, and let us hope we get to see some pictures!

Kunal Talwar is celebrating his birthday this month. A recent study concluded that the number of hair left on KT’s head this month achieved the statistical distinction of equaling his age in months. Happy Birthday KT! Also warm wishes to Sharad Mittal and Shilpa on the birthday of Arnav and to Harsh Nanda and Ranjeeta on the birthday of Hasit, all this month.

Let’s wish Vamsi and Reshika the best in this regard, for without a name there is no passport, without a passport there is no visa, and without a visa there is no trip to the US for the little one. We can’t have that, can we?

Hi Everyone,
Hope folks in the US are having fun with the start of summer and folks in India are trying to look at the sunny side of things.

Before I started writing this email I recalled that we will have graduated from IIT 9 years back this month. Technically we graduated in August, but our last exams were in May and our last grades too were announced in May. Here is to entering the tenth year after our graduation!!

Dear Friends,
Hope all of you are busy making fools of yourselves and others. Also, here is hoping that the economic downturn is not impacting you in any major way.

Dear Friends,
Yes, it is the monthly email again. This month, Happy Birthday to Alok Ranjan, Avneesh Sud, Pankaj Thakkar, Pankaj Kant Jha and Kumar Gautam. Also congratulations to Mayank and Roma Sharma on the 2nd Birthday of Raina!

Though it seems funny wishing ourselves, we (Tantan and Tanuka) are celebrating our wedding anniversary this month and so are we (Vaibhav and Swati). And lastly, hearty congratulations to the married veterans of our batch – Rohit Khandekar and Aradhana. For those who don’t remember Khandekar and Aradhana were the first to get married in our batch.

Dear Batchmates,
February is a really good month for the Nil alumni. For starters, Mohit Mittal is celebrating his birthday. He and Shveta are also celebrating their anniversary later this month. As I remarked to him at the time of his wedding, his “B-Day” and his “D-Day” are equidistant from “V-Day” on opposite sides. Talking of V-Day, do have a good Valentine’s Day!

Back to the announcements, another Nilgirite (sort of) Rajas Nanda is celebrating his birthday on 17th February. So, Happy Birthday to both Mohit and Rajas!

Vijay Amrit Raj Sharma and Vandana are celebrating their anniversay on 2nd February. And Dinakar and Amulya are celebrating theirs on 10th February. Happy anniversary to Vijay + Vandana, Dinakar + Amulya and Mohit + Shveta!

Now for the BIG announcement of this month… As you would expect, this too is from a Nilgirite. Sulabh Agarwal is getting married to the very charming Rutu Bole at the end of this month in Bhopal. Rutu works for Deloitte Consulting in Pittsburgh in the Enterprise Risk Services area. Our best wishes to both of you!

Hope folks in the US had a good Thanksgiving weekend. Most of my (Tantan’s) wingmates from Nil landed up in Vegas for a reunion and had a blast. Of course, fortunes in the casinos fluctuated wildly from the disastrous to the most impressive, ensuring that the house always won – the casino in some cases and Nilgiri in the others.

We are all getting older and the following people have crossed another milestone. Happy Birthday to you!
